A plant positive approach to healthy crops, this a practical workshop that will provide you with an understanding of how to manage your kitchen garden to minimize problems and optimize the nutritional value of the crops you grow. The workshop will start with soil principles, soil health and composting, moving on to cultivation practice, introducing beneficial species through good habitat management, and then looking at irrigation, crop covers, harvesting and storage.
The workshop will run from 10am to 4pm including a two course lunch. Coffee will be available beforehand and tea and cake afterwards, so there will be plenty of time to wander around the Walled Garden and buy plants, herbs, vegetables and flowers.
